To My Daughter: A Mother’s Hope for Peace, Love & Happiness

May my Daughter Know Peace

I hope my daughter knows that seeing her stand in front of the ocean, arms spread wide, was one of the greatest highlights in my life. I hope she knows that although I can’t always show it in a way she understands, she has always been and will always be, my reason for so much. I hope someday she will recognize how difficult it can be to be a parent, and that I give with all of my heart, the very best I have at any given moment. I hope she knows that I dreamed of her long before I actually knew she was coming, excited and waiting to embrace the beauty that is her.

I hope she knows that she is exceptional, full of grace and goodness, which I’ve seen within her spirit and actions since the day she was born. I hope she comprehends that no matter what happens in this life, she can always come to me; that I will offer support and hold her wellbeing in great significance. I hope that she grows up happy, with minimal bumps, but enough to give her the depth to help others she may cross in her path. I hope she knows that she is a gift to the earth, that she was manifested into creation from a place greater than either of us, because she is the essence of God. I hope she knows that there are no limits to her success.

I hope she accepts herself as an amazing, wondrous soul; not because anyone says so, but because she truly is. I hope she comes to understand that mistakes and confusion are a part of life, but that in the end, integrity and the willingness to do better is what matters most. I hope that she knows that she is, and has always been my inspiration, and that she has guided me to do and be better, as a parent, as a friend, and as a human.

To my child, you a blessing to this world. (Original Writing: 01.01.2020?)

Edit, (05/16/2024): May my child's heart overflow in love and her own version of happiness. She is, and will always be, worth more than she could know.

My daughter's first time seeing the ocean

This was my daughters first time seeing an ocean. She was maybe 11 or 12 years old. She walked to the water line and without thought, stretched her arms wide. It was one of the most beautiful moments I have ever witnessed.
